According to the Dictionaries: Parlous seems to be an interesting old (even obselete) English word that meant dangerously cunning, or cleverly shrewd in it's workings.
Also wherefrom came the word "perilous" indicative of a condition greatly dangerous to a large extent. PARLOUS: a dangerously sentencing time. |
