Revelation 9:16
And the number of horsemen of war, were twenty times ten thousand. And I heard the number of them:

*Re 9:16 will now be corrected to read:
Code:
And the number of horsemen of war, were twenty times tens of thousands. And I heard the number of them:

Tyndale's original English translation actually says twenty times xM

The Greek δυο μυριαδες μυριαδων seems to hint at an old saying that means twenty of ten thousands by ten thousands; sort of like the English saying tens of thousands to imply a great amount to number (like 2 billion perhaps)... as the ancients of Greekland experienced in great battles would gather the formation to be A TERRIBLE AMOUNT OF HOSTS.

scale . = 1,000

Taking into account the symbology implied in Revelation, it's very interesting to note that in the Scriptures the number 20 generally is taken for Redemption and 10,000 x 10,000 for the Complete Glory of God.

The formation of that great army somehow brings to remembrance the Hebrew word: דְּרוֺר

DROR - DALET RESH VAV RESH - meaning FREEDOM, LIBERTY
According to the dictionaries:
Quote:
Word: דרור
Pronounc: der-ore'
Strong: #H1865
Transliter: drowr
from an unused root (meaning to move rapidly); freedom; hence, spontaneity of outflow, and so clear:--liberty, pure.

Similar to Greek: G859, G1588

Word: αφεσις
Pronounc: af'-es-is
Strong: #G859
Transliter: aphesis
from 863; freedom; (figuratively) pardon:--deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission.
Code:
Word: αφιημι
Pronounc: af-ee'-ay-mee
Strong:  #G863
Transliter: aphiemi
from 575 and hiemi (to send; an intensive form of eimi, to go); to  send forth, in various applications (as follow):--cry, forgive,  forsake, lay aside, leave, let (alone, be, go, have), omit, put (send)  away, remit, suffer, yield up.

Word: απο
Pronounc: apo'
Strong:  #G575
Transliter: apo
a primary particle; "off," i.e. away (from something near), in various  senses (of place, time, or relation; literal or figurative):--(X  here-)after, ago, at, because of, before, by (the space of), for(-th),  from, in, (out) of, off, (up-)on(-ce), since, with. In composition (as  a prefix) it usually denotes separation, departure, cessation,  completion, reversal, etc.

Word: εκλεκτος
Pronounc: ek-lek-tos'
Strong: #G1588
Transliter: eklektos
from 1586; select; by implication, favorite:--chosen, elect.
Code:
Word: εκλεγομαι
Pronounc: ek-leg'-om-ahee
Strong:  #G1586
Transliter: eklegomai
middle voice from 1537 and 3004 (in its primary sense); to  select:--make choice, choose (out), chosen.

Word: εκ
Pronounc: ek
Strong:  #G1537
Transliter: ek
or    ex  ex a primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or  motion proceeds), from, out (of place, time, or cause; literal or  figurative; direct or remote):--after, among, X are, at,  betwixt(-yond), by (the means of), exceedingly, (+ abundantly above),  for(- th), from (among, forth, up), + grudgingly, + heartily, X  heavenly, X hereby, + very highly, in, ...ly, (because, by reason) of,  off (from), on, out among (from, of), over, since, X thenceforth,  through,  X unto, X vehemently, with(-out). Often used in composition,  with the same general import; often of completion.

Word: λεγω
Pronounc: leg'-o
Strong:  #G3004
Transliter: lego
a primary verb; properly, to "lay" forth, i.e. (figuratively) relate  (in words (usually of systematic or set discourse; whereas 2036 and  5346 generally refer to an individual expression or speech  respectively; while 4483 is properly to break silence merely, and 2980 means an extended or random harangue)); by implication, to mean:--ask,  bid, boast, call, describe, give out, name, put forth, say(-ing, on),  shew, speak, tell, utter.

--- freeness, spontaneity; release, freedom; a flowing.. wheeling about; a swift, swallow

Ironically it can also mean swallow... notwithstanding that'll give a whole new meaning to the term FREE LIKE A BIRD.
