Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: behold, the young woman shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
- (Jewish Publication OT English translation from the Hebrew)

Both Masoretic and the ancient Hebrew Isaiah Scroll found at the Dead Sea use the Hebrew word (almah) meaning young woman or maidden of marriageable age. The Hebrew language has a different word (betulot) to describe a female virgin but it is not specifically used in that passage, though of course (according to divine law) the not yet married "almah" is understood to also be a virgin as the moral norm. It's ironic that when Mary's husband Joseph heard that she was pregnant, obviously could not accept it till it was revealed to him what really had happened.
Matthew 1:18-25
18The birth of Christ was on this wise, when his mother Mary was married unto Joseph, before they came to dwell together, she was found with child by the holy ghost.  19Then her husband Joseph being a perfect man, and loth to defame her, was minded to put her away secretly.  20While he thus thought, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in sleep saying: Joseph the son of David, fear not to take unto thee, Mary thy wife. For that which is conceived in her, is of the holy ghost.  21She shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus. For he shall save his people from their sins.  22All this was done to fulfil that which was spoken of the Lord, by the prophet saying:  23Behold a maid shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shalt call his name Emmanuel, which is as much to say, by interpretation, as God with us.  24 Joseph as soon as he awoke out of sleep, did as the angel of the Lord bade him, and took his wife unto him,  25and knew her not, till she had brought forth her first son, and called his name Jesus.
- Tyndale and friends Bible

Septuagint wrote:Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; behold, a * virgin shall conceive in the womb, and shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Emmanuel.
* The Greek LXX Septuagint (285 B.C.) translation of the Old Testament Hebrew Scriptures here specifically used “parthenos”, a Greek word meaning “virgin” as did most Bible translations of different languates and nations:
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
- King James Version

Amazing moral evidence acknowledging the sovereign providence of God (to distinguish in foreknowing how most Jewish hebrew speaking people would at first reject the heavenly message) how the word "parthenos" virgin is also used in the Greek New Testament fulfilment understood as such for generations:
Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
- King James Version

Ironically the Tyndale first New Testament English translation from the original tongues (before it was edited by later generations) still emphasized something more to that Greek "parthenos" virgin; originally acknowledging the Hebraic "almah" by translating it as a maid:
Matthew 1:23
Behold a maid shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shalt call his name Emmanuel, which is as much to say, by interpretation, as God with us.
- Tyndale and friends Bible
Indeed ironic how that the Greek along with the gentiles were truely like a young virgin coming to God compared to the Hebrew people that had a relationship with God all along from the beginning.. that brings the following Scriptures to mind:
Romans 11:13-27
13I speak to you gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the gentiles I will magnify mine office  14that might provoke them which are my flesh: and might save some of them.  15For if the casting away of them, be the reconciling of the world: what shall the receiving of them be, but life again from death?  16For if one piece be holy, the whole heap is holy. And if the root be holy, the branches are holy also.  17Though some of the branches be broken off, and thou being a wild olive tree art graft in among them, and made partaker of the root, and fatness of the olive tree,  18boast not thyself against the branches. For if thou boast thyself, remember that thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.  19Thou wilt say then: the branches are broken off, that I might be graft in.  20Thou sayest well: because of unbelief they are broken off, and thou standest steadfast in faith. Be not high minded, but fear:  21seeing that God spared not the natural branches, lest haply he also spare not thee.  22Behold the kindness and rigorousness of God: on them which fell, rigorousness: but towards thee kindness, if thou continue in his kindness. Or else thou shalt be hewn off,  23and they if they bide not still in unbelief shall be grafted in again. For God is of power to graft them in again.  24For if thou wast cut out of a natural wild olive tree, and wast graffed contrary to nature in a true olive tree: how much more shall the natural branches be graffed in their own olive tree again.  25I would not that this secret should be hid from you my brethren (lest ye should be wise in your own conceits) that partly blindness is happened in Israel, until the fullness of the gentiles be come in.  26And so all Israel shall be saved. As it is written: There shall come out of Sion he that doth deliver, and shall turn away the ungodliness of Jacob.  27And this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
- Tyndale and friends Bible
2 Corinthians 11:1-3
1Would to God, ye could suffer me a little in my foolishness: yea, and I pray you forbear me.  2For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy. For I coupled you to one man, to make you a chaste virgin to Christ:  3But I fear lest as the serpent beguiled Eve, thorow his subtlety, even so your wits should be corrupt from the singleness that is in Christ.
- Tyndale and friends Bible
Ephesians 3:6
that the gentiles should be inheritors also, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise that is in Christ, by the means of the gospel,
- Tyndale and friends Bible
Ephesians 5:24-33
24Therefore as the congregation is in subjection to Christ, likewise let the wives be in subjection to their husbands in all things.  25Husbands love your wives, even as Christ loved the congregation, and gave himself for it,  26to sanctify it, and cleansed it in the fountain of water thorow the word,  27to make it unto himself, a glorious congregation without spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing: but that it should be holy and without blame.  28So ought men to love their wives, as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife, loveth himself.  29For no man ever yet, hated his own flesh: But nourisheth, and cherisheth it: even as the Lord doth the congregation:  30for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.  31For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall continue with his wife, and two shall be made one flesh.  32This is a great secret, but I speak between Christ and the congregation.  33Nevertheless do ye so that every one of you love his wife truly even as himself: And let the wife see that she fear her husband.
- Tyndale and friends Bible

Unfortunately nowadays the majority of gentiles (others unlike most moral Torah abiding Jews) have watered down the meaningful Hebraic costum value of a godly virgin maidden ready to be bethroned for helping her husband.

maid (n)
1. An unmarried woman; usually, a young unmarried woman; esp., a girl; a virgin; a maiden.

MAID indeed brings out to light the true Hebraic meaning of even "parthenos" here taken as a real VIRGIN: young moral woman of marriageable age mature to be a helpful productive wife. The Jewish Mary (called Mirium in Hebrew) was in-deed more than just a virgin before she gave birth, because she herself specifically said she was the HANDMAIDEN of the Lord:
Luke 1:28-55
28And the angel went in unto her, and said: Hail full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.  29When she saw him, she was abashed at his saying: and cast in her mind what manner of salutation that should be.  30And the angel said unto her: fear not Mary, thou hast found grace with God.  31Lo: thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bear a child, and shalt call his name Jesus.  32He shall be great, and shall be called the son of the highest. And the Lord God shall give unto him the seat of his father David:  33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom shall be none end.  34Then said Mary unto the angel: How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  35And the angel answered, and said unto her: The holy ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore also that holy thing which shall be born, shall be called the son of God.  36And mark, thy cousin Elizabeth, hath also conceived a son in her old age. And this is the sixth month to her, which was called barren,  37for with God shall nothing be unpossible.  38 Mary said: behold the handmaiden of the Lord, be it unto me even as thou hast said. And the angel departed from her.  39 Mary arose in those days, and went into the mountains with haste into a city of Jewry,  40and entered into the house of Zachary, and saluted Elizabeth:  41And it fortuned, as Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe sprang in her belly. And Elizabeth was filled with the holy ghost,  42and cried with a loud voice, and said: Blessed art thou among the women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.  43And whence happeneth this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  44 Lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe sprang in my belly for joy.  45And blessed art thou that believedst: For those things shall be performed which were told thee from the Lord.  46And Mary said: My soul magnifieth the Lord.  47And my spirit rejoiceth in God my saviour:  48For he hath looked on the poor degree of his handmaiden. Behold now from hence forth shall all generations call me blessed.  49For he that is mighty hath done to me great things, and blessed is his name.  50And his mercy is always on them that fear him thorowout all generations.  51He hath shewed strength with his arm, he hath scattered them that are proud in the imagination of their hearts.  52He hath put Down the mighty from their seats, and hath exalted them of low degree.  53He hath filled the hungry with good things: And hath sent away the rich empty.  54He hath remembered mercy: and hath holpen his servant Israel.  55Even as he promised to our fathers, Abraham and to his seed for ever.

Luke 24:33-53
33And they rose up the same hour, and returned again to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,  34saying: The Lord is risen in deed, and hath appeared to Simon.  35And they told what things was done in the way, and how they knew him, by the breaking of bread.  36As they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them: peace be with you. (It is I, fear not)  37And they were abashed, and afraid, supposing that they had seen a spirit.  38And he said unto them: Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?  39Behold my hands and my feet. For it is even I myself. Handle me and see. For spirits have not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.  40And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands, and his feet.  41And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them: Have ye here any meat?  42and they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.  43And he took it, and ate it before them.  44And he said unto them: These are the words, which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you: that all must be fulfilled which were written of me in the law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms.  45Then opened he their wits, that they might understand the scriptures,  46and said unto them: Thus is it written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise again from death the third day.  47And that repentance, and remission of sins, should be preached in his name among all nations. And the beginning must be at Jerusalem.  48And ye are witnesses of these things.  49And behold, I will send the promise of my father upon you. But tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.  50And he led them out into Bethany, and lift up his hands, and blest them.  51And it came to pass, as he blessed them, he departed from them, and was carried up into heaven.  52And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.  53And were continually in the temple, praising, and lauding God.
